This policy explains what information may be processed when you visit Oral Care Compass, contact us, or submit information through a site form.
Information you provide
If you email us, we receive the email address, message, and any information or attachments you choose to send. If you use our Request a Review form, we receive the product or brand name and category you submit, plus any optional research priority, product URL, notes, or email address you choose to provide. The form may also include a technical source-page field used to understand where a request originated.
How review-request information is used
Review requests are used as demand intelligence to help prioritize future research and to prevent abuse or duplicate spam. Providing an email address is optional and does not subscribe you to a newsletter; if you provide one for the stated purpose, we may use it for a one-time update if the requested review is published or to clarify the submission when reasonably necessary.
Reader reviews
If you submit a reader review, we may receive the product name, star rating, whether you report purchasing it yourself, approximate usage duration, retailer information, your written experience, optional pros and cons, an optional nickname, and an optional email address. If a review is published, we may display selected review fields such as the rating, nickname or “Anonymous reader,” self-reported purchaser status, usage duration, retailer, experience, pros, cons, and review date. We do not publish the email address submitted with the form.
Page-helpfulness feedback
If you use a page-level helpfulness control, we receive the page identifier, page type, content version, and whether you selected yes or no. We use this information in aggregate to understand which pages readers find useful. The feature uses local browser storage to reduce accidental repeat votes from the same browser for the same page version; it is not designed to fingerprint you or create a user profile.
Please do not send sensitive information
Our public forms are not designed for medical records, diagnoses, payment-card details, passwords, government identification numbers, order credentials, or other sensitive personal information. Please do not submit those details.
Hosting and form processing
Oral Care Compass is hosted on Netlify. Netlify may process website requests, security logs, and form submissions on our behalf as part of providing hosting and form-processing services. Information processed by service providers is also subject to their applicable terms and privacy practices.
Website and device information
Our hosting and security services may process standard technical information needed to deliver and protect the website, such as IP address, browser or device information, requested pages, timestamps, and security or abuse-prevention signals.
Analytics
We may use privacy-limited analytics to understand page views, traffic sources, device categories, approximate region, and interactions such as outbound product-link clicks. We disable Google advertising storage and personalization features. In regions where consent is required for analytics cookies, analytics storage is denied by default.
Affiliate links and third parties
When you click an affiliate link, the destination network, retailer, or seller may use cookies, identifiers, or similar attribution technologies under its own privacy policy. We do not receive your payment-card details or complete your purchase on this website.
How information is used
Information may be used to operate and secure the site, process requested submissions, measure performance, respond to communications, improve content, prioritize research, prevent abuse, maintain records, and comply with applicable legal obligations.
Sharing
We do not sell form submissions or email addresses to advertisers. Information may be processed by service providers that help us host, secure, measure, or operate the site, or disclosed when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights or security, or investigate abuse.
Retention
We retain submissions, communications, and operational records only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described above, subject to legal, security, fraud-prevention, and business requirements. Records that are no longer needed may be deleted or anonymized.
Your choices
You may block or clear cookies through your browser and may use available browser privacy signals or analytics opt-out tools. You may contact us to ask a privacy question or request review, correction, or deletion of personal information you previously submitted, subject to applicable legal and operational requirements.
Children
This website is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly ask children to submit personal information through our public forms.
